Music, Dance and Art Elective Courses:
Our music course includes activities that provide many opportunities for students to sing, play instruments, move to music, listen and analyze, learn musical notation, create, and perform.
Our dance course equips our scholars with experiences of movement in different styles of dance, appreciate dance as a performing art both historically and culturally, identify the elements of dance, and express themselves with original choreography. Scholars will have opportunities to perform throughout the year for various school events, the winter concert, and the spring production.
Scholars in this elective course will focus on dance technique, explore choreography, and study historical and cultural connections to dance. This course will give scholars an opportunity to participate in a more intense dance class and improve their individual movement range, technique, and vocabulary in a variety of dance styles. Scholars will study dance history and analyze choreography in order to inform their own dancing. Dance genres will include, but not be limited to Ballet, Jazz, Modern and World Dance.
