
Ms. Smith is excited to be a new school counselor as this is her first year in the field of counseling! She has always had a passion for working with students in underserved communities and her mission has always been to provide students with exceptional educational opportunities. Prior to obtaining her master’s degree in Counselor Education from Kean University, Ms. Smith has had a pleasure of working with Special Education students for 7 years. Through her experiences, Ms. Smith has learned that students gravitate towards those who genuinely care about their overall well-being.
Outside of work, Ms. Smith enjoys working as a laboratory technician at an environmental lab on the weekends. Ms. Smith has a bachelor’s degree in Biology, where her love for science and math is expressed through her work in the laboratory. Ms. Smith spends most of her time traveling and spending quality time with her red toy poodle puppy.
At QCACS, Ms. Smith aims to offer a fostering environment for our students through building a strong rapport with students, families and staff/faculty members. Ms. Smith believes a systemic approach to helping students reach optimal mental health is essential for academic achievement.
